If you are allergic to surgical tape, these may irritate your lips
I was excited to try this and found that after the first use my lips did seem softer and plumper. By the third day, I noticed that my lips itched a bit, but I didn't think much of it. After applying the fourth night, I woke up to a line of red, iriitated and slighlty blistery skin under my lower lip — very similar to the early reaction I get with surgical tape — before the full-blown blisters and sores appear. I tried to cross reference City Lips ingredients with surgical tape ingredients, but that's when I learned that while City Lips is forthcoming with their ingredients (kudos to them!), surgical tape manufacturers are not so willing to share. To be sure that it was from the gloss, I did a 10 minute patch test on my inner arm, and sure enough — it turned into a red spot then a welt nearly immediately. Bummer. So this may or may not work as intended for you, BUT if you have any kind of allergic reaction to surgical tape, you might want to proceed with caution. Test it on your inner arm before using; if you're allergic to it, you'll know fairly quickly.
