Misleading $10 sample
Years ago I bought samples that were in a tube with an applicator and I thought that's what this was. It's those tiny bubbles less than a pinky nail of product.

Years ago I bought samples that were in a tube with an applicator and I thought that's what this was. It's those tiny bubbles less than a pinky nail of product.
When they say "sample," they mean it. $10 for a card with three one-use dots of lip gloss. This is the size other companies offer for free or as a free gift with purchase. Does NOT make me eager to purchase anything else. RIPOFF
I unwittingly ordered this thinking I was getting a set of 3 small vials of the lip gloss. It is exactly as pictured on the site, a card with 3 drops of color and a picture of 3 tubes. The description does not clarify this, and does not give the quantity provided. Absolutely not worth $10!! In my estimation, these should be provided free with a purchase. I will absolutely send this "sample card" back.
I see that the picture associated with this has been changed. When I purchased this it showed 3 tubes of lip gloss. I figured they would be minis for the price but it is a one time use sample that most cosmetic companies would throw into your order for free. Complete waste of $10.
This is the smallest sample I've ever seen. I'm not sure if I will be able to decide with one drop of gloss. Very disappointed. And, it came in a large (for the sample) box, marked "fragile, handle with care" and a ton of tissue paper. Seriously, it fits in an envelope! I guess I should have just blindly picked a color and bought a full tube. Just a waste of money.
I paid $10 for this sample and did not realize what I was getting. I assumed they would be in a small container but didn't realize it was just a dab of gloss in plastic packaging. My picture shows what you will get if you order this. I'm disappointed.
I ordered 2 of these, one for me and one for a gift. When it arrived it was not the trio sampler I was expecting. I thought it was going to be 3 mini bottles to try, but instead it's just 3 small bubble shaped blisters with a tiny bit of gloss in each. I paid $10 for this each? On the packaging you see the 3 small bottles and that's what I thought I was getting. Don't be fooled and this is not worth $10! More like $1 .. It's not worth the price to try in my opinion. It was totally misleading. Disappointed in City Beauty since I have ordered other items from them on amazon.
Mis-leading- these are not mini glosses yet just 3 one-time use finger samples. Love City Beauty and their product but this one threw me off. Very similar to the free samples you get with other brand orders.
This ought to be a free sample. Imagine my surprise when I received my order and thought my 3 shade sampler, that I paid $10 for was missing from the box. Wait- no- it is literally 3 dots of lip gloss on a sample CARD, not 3 sample sized tubes of lip gloss. This is like the free sample of foundation you might get for free from Sephora or Ulta. Absolutely ridiculous. Save your money, ladies. Sorry- I paid a lot of money for my order- this should have been included as a free sample/thank you. Will not be ordering again. I feel cheated.
This Sampler is miniscule and not worth $10. Very disappointed. They come in a 3 pack of very small rounds. These should be included for free as an actual promotional sample.
I absolutely LOVE my lip gloss. Won't ever go back to lip liner again! But I ordered this thinking it would be more than a small pod of lip gloss and I believe it should be considered a sample and not $10. I am a loyal customer but I believe honest reviews can be helpful.
This sampler pack is a total waste of money. The samples are so small that they don't even give you one full use. At over $3.00 per sample you should get more than a dot. This is the worst sampler I've ever purchased. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. Go to Sephora where they give you free samples.
recently purchased the City Lights Lip Plumping Sampler, expecting three small bottles of gloss as depicted in the product image. Unfortunately, this was misleading. The product arrived in a large box but contained only a piece of cardboard with minuscule gloss samples, akin to those given for free at malls. For $28 for two samplers, this was profoundly disappointing, as it held barely enough gloss for a couple of uses. Attempting to return the product proved futile; instead, I was offered more of the same unsatisfactory samples. This experience was entirely unsatisfactory, and if possible, I would rate it lower than one star.
Can't believe I paid $30 Australian dollars and received the sample trio on a card, I didn't even try them they weren't big enough I just threw it in the bin I will never try anything else from this company
Be warned! Read the entire description! I did not! I thought these were true sample size glosses in tiny bottles. They are literally microscopic dots of each color. Barely enough to review the color!! Smaller than a free sample you might be handed in a department store. Learn from my mistake. No one should pay $10, plus shipping for this. It's really just a promotional giveaway!! Don't do it!!
The way that it is pictured leads you to believe you will receive MINI SAMPLE TUBES of product! Not the case! Smaller than an aspirin size of product, I can't carry that! $10 not very well spent for me!!!
Absolute waste of $10. This is a sample card that should come free with most any order…especially lip products!
Puny amount of product for $10.00. Not worth i1!
I feel completely ripped off. A sampler of the best selling glosses was offered for $10. It looked like three small tubes. Well, the 4 I ordered for gifts - $40 worth - are no more than a bubble pack of one application of each color . I am seriously not happy. If it isn't in a tube, don't show a tube on the advertising or be very clear what your purchasing. I now have to go purchase additional gifts for the four ladies who were going to get these. I would be embarrassed to give this piece of cardboard. If I put all the gloss from these tiny bubble packs into a tube it would fill one up therefore I'm paying a premium. I thought I was getting a great deal which, I assumed, would result in my sisters-in-law becoming loyal customers too.I love all the products I have purchased - and I have purchased many - but I think City Lips just lost one customer instead of gaining 4 more.
This is ridiculous and my review is simple for principle at this point. They have since updated the picture to show the cheap sample they charge you 10 dollars plus tax for. The same type of sample they give for free at any beauty store. The same sample that all 3 colors combined would not cover my lips.. I should have read the return policy. I was charged 8 dollars for a fragile marked box with this sample that can easily slip in an envelope. So now after speaking to customer service, I can either keep it and get a refund of 30%, which is a few cents over 3 dollars. I can ship it back with tracking at my expense to get the full 10 dollars back but I'd be out two shipping costs or I can chalk up wasting 18 plus dollars for something I will now never buy. Either way I can't help but feel screwed over. Shipping fees aside, the sample product itself is not worth the 10 dollar charge.
